Malik Shaheed’s passion for helping the community began when he was a member of the Student Council in highschool. Here, he was involved in the yearly Talent Show where students around school were giving time in the spotlight to showcase their various talents. This type of organization continued at college, where Shaheed was a founding member of the International Black Students Association. This association’s first rap show set the tone for the various CEGEP Rap shows that followed it across Montréal.
During college, Shaheed’s love for giving back to the community was apparent when he worked as a part time animator for the YMCA of Pointe-Saint-Charles where he organized youth activities for kids from Pointe-Saint Charles, Little Burgundy, Verdun and Lasalle. He also played a vital role in the success of the first ever Little Burgundy Youth Business Co-op, which benefited the children of Little Burgundy by teaching them entrepreneurial skills at a young age.
